Celebrate with us as we countdown to the launch of Baltimore's new and free shuttle. Making it's debut on January 11, 2010, the Orange Route will be the first of three routes in service.

To kick off this exciting event, buses will be located at various locations through out the city beginning New Year's Eve right until the launch date. This is your opportunity to see the new eco-friendly hybrid electirc buses, the first fleet of its kind in a major metropolitan area. There will be free giveaways and information on route service details.

Dedicated Bus Lanes Take Effect Today

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation today announced that the dedicated bus lanes in downtown Baltimore are now in effect today, Monday, December 28, 2009.

In order to improve transit services for the citizens of Baltimore, dedicated bus lanes were installed along Lombard and Pratt Streets from Martin Luther King, Junior Boulevard to President Street. Dedicated bus lanes separate transit vehicles from other modes of traffic. The new designated lanes give priority to buses and provide for a safer transit commute with minimal delays.
