Upcoming Street and Lane Closures, May 3 - May 6

Please be advised that there are several downton activties along with construction occuring this weekend.

Cinco de Mayo Festival

A portion of S. Broadway will be closed in preparation for the event. S. Broadway will be closed to through traffic between Pratt and Lombard Streets beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 03, 2013 and will remain closed until 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 05, 2013. Parking will also be restricted in this area during this time.

Federal Hill Cinco de Mayo Festival

In preparation for the event, E. Cross Street will be closed to through traffic between Light and Charles Streets (north side of the market) on Sunday, May 05, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 midnight.

Central Avenue Crane Lift

This Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of Central Avenue for a crane lift operation. On Saturday, May 04, 2013 temporary lane closures will be implemented along Central Avenue at the intersection of Fleet Street from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Light Street Closure for Construction of
Pedestrian Bridge

  
Starting at 9:00 p.m. on Monday, May 06, 2013 Light Street will be closed to through traffic between Conway and Pratt Streets with detours and parking restrictions in effect, weather permitting. This portion of Light Street will remain closed until 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 07, 2013.

Fiesta 5K Fun Run and Walk
 
Traffic modifications will be in effect for the Fiesta 5K Fun Run and Walk which will be held on Saturday, May 04, 2013 starting at 8:00 a.m.  
 
In preparation for the event, the following streets will be closed to through traffic on Saturday, May 04, 2013 from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.:
• Southbound President Street from Fayette to Lancaster Streets. Southbound Jones Falls Expressway traffic will be diverted onto Fayette Street.
• Lombard Street from President to Gay Streets. Lombard Street traffic will be diverted north onto President Street.
• Pratt Street from Gay to President Streets. Pratt Street traffic will be diverted north onto Gay Street.
• Eastern Avenue from Central to President Streets. Local traffic will be maintained.
• Northbound Boston Street from Linwood Avenue to Fleet Street. Northbound Boston Street traffic will be diverted onto Linwood Avenue.

Port to Fort 6K Family Run/Walk
 
The Port to Fort 6K Family Run/Walk which will be held on Sunday, May 05, 2013 starting at 8:00 a.m.
 
The event will begin and end along Key Highway at the Baltimore Museum of Industry. Participants will proceed west along Key Highway and turn right on Light Street, left onto Lee Street, and then left on S. Charles Street. Runners will then turn right on W. Hughes Street, left on S. Hanover Street, left on W. Wells Street, and left on Johnson Street. Runners will proceed parallel to Riverside Park, right on E. Randall Street, left on Battery Avenue, right on E. Cross Street and right back onto Key Highway to finish at the Baltimore Museum of Industry.
 
During the event, one lane of travel will be coned off for participants along the race route wherever possible. Commuters should be aware that temporary traffic stops may be implemented during the event for the safety of participants.
