We want it known that the Charm City Circulator is accessible to the entire community!
We support the Americans with Disabilities Act and each Charm City Circulator bus is equipped with an ADA-compliant ramp that can be manually activated by the vehicle operator at each stop to allow adequate time for persons with disabilities to board and disembark. All buses are equipped with signage designating priority seating for the disabled, two interior locations for secure wheel chair placement and voice annunciation to announce stops along the routes.
The width of Charm City Circulator bus ramps are 32 inches. Our recommended maximum width for wheelchairs, scooters, and manually powered mobility aid access is 30 inches. Please review the individual specifications for your model to determine if our vehicles can accommodate you.
The Charm City Circulator welcomes passengers with service animals and passengers who utilize portable oxygen, respirators and concentrators. Acceptance of service animals can be subject to the system inquiring about the function the animal is trained.
Upon notification the Charm City Circulator will consider request for reasonable modification to its existing ADA service policies or practices in order to ensure accessible services. Accommodations can also be made by riders who are unable to use Local Bus (including the Charm City Circulator), Metro/Subway or Light Rail service; the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) provides transportation through its Mobility/Paratransit program.
Mobility/Paratransit is a specialized, curb-to-curb service for people with disabilities who are not able to ride fixed-route public transportation, including lift-equipped buses. This service is available to Baltimore City residents and visitors of the city.
Additional accommodations for ADA Complementary services and Paratransit Services can be provided during the same service days and service hours as the Charm City Circulator’s operating hours.
